Tickets
To ensure you don’t miss a ball during the Australian Open fortnight, the first thing you must do is get your hands on some tickets. Packages and single session tickets are already available to Australian Open members in Match, Set and Game categories, as well as AO coach members. They will first become available to Tennis Australia’s state association members from 7 September.
For members of the general public, AO2013 packages go on sale on 3 October, while single session tickets can be purchased from 8 October.

Tournament launch
Excitement for the tournament begins to build with the Australian Open Launch, an event held on Tuesday 2 October.
The launch will be streamed live on the Australian Open website, giving fans around the world the opportunity to be involved and engaged.
AO Play–off
The Australian Open wildcard play-off tournament is the crown-jewel event of the December Showdown, a three-week carnival of tennis from 28 November to 21 December 2012 at Melbourne Park.
The AO Play-off will be held on 11-16 December, showcasing some of the finest Australian tennis talent as they compete for a prized wildcard into the main draw of Australian Open 2013.
The December Showdown also comprises the Optus Australian Championships for juniors in 12/u, 14/u, 16/u and 18/u age groups.
Qualifying
In the week leading up to the Australian Open, hundreds of players descend on Melbourne Park to fight for a place in the main draw through qualifying. This gives fans the chance to experience world-class tennis up close in the intimate setting of Melbourne Park’s back courts.
The men’s qualifying event runs from Wednesday 9 to Saturday 12 January, with the women’s tournament beginning on the Thursday and played out on 10-12 January.
Australian Open 2013
Come Monday 14 January, it’s the event everyone has been waiting for. The year’s first Grand Slam kicks off and spans two weeks, attended by thousands and watched by millions more as the world’s finest players battle it out for one of the sport’s four major trophies.
