Record numbers apply for AO jobs

    Court services

Demand for jobs at the Australian Open is almost as high as it is for tickets.

This year more than 4900 people applied for a variety of positions at Australian Open 2013. Employment areas included broadcast, court services, media, digital, drivers, hospitality, information services and, of course, ballkids.

“A big thank you to all who applied, the quality of applicants this year was especially strong,” said Raelene Turner, Tennis Australia’s Director of Human Resources.

“Each year the Australian Open grows in strength and popularity, and a big part of that is due to the hard work of the hundreds of staff who commit themselves to making this event a truly world-class sporting experience.”

All applicants will be contacted by August 2012 in response to their application.

For those who missed out on applying for Australian Open 2013, applications for Australian Open 2014 open on 1 June 2013.

     Best of luck!
